About
Badge Of Pride is a Dallas-based LGBTQ+ history nonprofit working at the intersection of history, art, activism, and culture.
We collect. We exhibit. We activate.
Founded in 2022, Badge Of Pride grew from a collection more than three decades in the making: more than 10,000 artifacts documenting LGBTQ+ life, identity, activism, culture, and community.
We bring that history into public view through exhibitions, performances, oral histories, community archiving, digital projects, and public programs. Our work has ranged from Badge Of Pride: From Silence…To Celebration!, the largest artifact-centered LGBTQ+ history exhibition presented in Texas, to community-led efforts preserving the photographs, documents, places, and stories that tell the history of LGBTQ+ North Texas.
We believe LGBTQ+ history belongs in museums, on stages, in archives, in classrooms, and in the communities where it happened. By preserving that history and making it accessible, Badge Of Pride connects generations, strengthens community, and ensures LGBTQ+ people are represented in the story North Texas tells about itself.
